The Unit Setup section is where site types, add-on types and sites are created and edited.
Campspot has a three-level hierarchy of organization for sites and add-ons. The top level of the hierarchy is the category level. In Campspot, sites have four default Categories (Tent Sites, RV Sites, Lodging, and Other Sites), and add-ons have one default category (Add-Ons with Dates). These categories are not editable.
The second level of the hierarchy, underneath the category level, is the type level. Each of the four categories for sites and the category for add-ons has a list of types. Types represent the customizable groupings that you can organize your sites and add-ons in. Hence, when creating a type, you want to think about the distinct groups that your sites or add-ons in a given category fall into. For example, two types you might group a bunch of sites that are in the Lodging category into are Log Cabins and Bungalows, and two types you might group a bunch of add-ons that are in the Add-Ons with Dates category into are Golf Carts and Hot Tubs.
The third level of the hierarchy, the level underneath the type level, is the site or add-on level. At this level, you list out individual campsites and add-ons. For example, two sites within the Log Cabin type might be Log Cabin 1 and Log Cabin 2, and two add-ons within the Hot Tub type might be Hot Tub 1 and Hot Tub 2. It is a recommended best practice to name each site/add-on using its type name and appending a distinct number after it as shown in the examples.
