Base Pricing: Site Types VS Add-Ons

The reports used for managing Base Prices comes in two different variations: one for Site Types and one for Add-ons. If your park offers Daily Add-Ons, the information on this page is also applicable to the Base Prices for Add-Ons as well.

Changing Price based on the Day of the Week

To understand the basics of how to fill out the Base Prices for Campsites report, let's take a look at differentiating prices by day of the week. One of the simplest ways to enhance your pricing strategy is to adjust prices based on demand throughout the week.

For instance, let's consider pricing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights differently from the rest of the week. To implement this in the Base Prices for Campsites report:

  1. Duplicate Date Range: Copy and paste the column for the date range you are updating.
  2. Adjust Days of the Week: Update the abbreviated days of the week in Row 1 for both the columns for the preferred date range.
    1. In this example, the new column's days of week would be F, S, SU and the original column would be updated to include M, T, W, Th.
  3. Update Rates: Modify the rates to align with your pricing strategy.

Please Note:

The date range(s) included on the Base Prices for Campsites sheet need to cover all future dates you would like to have reservations bookable for. If a date range is not included on the Base Price sheet it will not generate a site to select when searching for reservations on the reservation grid.

  1. Add New columns: Add the new date ranges to the worksheet by inputting the information in the blank columns on the right of your existing rates. In the example below, this is accomplished by using the copy and paste feature then updating the date range.

As part of this park's strategy, you may want to include Holiday Rate for those peak season Holidays. To do this, you will follow similar actions:

  1. Duplicate Date Range (please see note)
  2. Adjust Days of the Week (please see note)

  1. Positioning of Date Ranges: Ensure that the new date ranges and rates are input into columns before the columns holding the year date range. This is crucial because the system reads the report from left to right. If a reservation falls within the dates on a column, the system will price each individual night within that date range. Including specific date ranges to the left of broader ones ensures accurate pricing.
  2. Days of the Week Adjustment: In situations where you aim to set pricing for particular date ranges, it's essential to include all days of the week in the designated column. This step is crucial to guarantee a successful upload and fulfill the system's requirements.

    By including all days of the week, even if the pricing is only applicable to specific dates within the range, you ensure that the system processes the data accurately. This approach helps maintain consistency and prevents potential errors during the pricing setup process.
