Uses

Campgrounds can use this integration with Insider Perks to:

  • Provide 24/7 reservation and customer support without staff involvement

  • Answer FAQs based on park-specific policies and amenities

  • Reduce call volume and increase booking conversion, especially after hours

  • Enable 24/7 phone reservations and guest support, including secure payment via text link, without staff involvement

Integration Instructions

1. Contact Insider Perks to Get Started

To get started, first email clients@insiderperks.com and cc casey.cochran@campspot.com to begin the setup process. 

2. Sign Up for CampVantage

Next, enroll in CampVantage, the Insider Perks subscription plan ($99/month base) which will enable access to the AI chatbot. 

2a. Choose Phone and/or Chat Setup

Parks can enable the AI chat, AI phone agent, or both. Insider Perks will confirm which channels you want activated and configure accordingly.

3. AI Bot Training

Insider Perks will complete the AI bot training and will:

  • Use the content from the campground's website and FAQs

  • Configure the chat experience based on the campground's inventory and park policies

4. API Access

To complete the setup, Insider Perks will:

  • Request API credentials from Campspot

  • Work directly with the Campspot team to securely enable booking functionality

Note: Campspot provides a staging API key for testing, and Insider Perks leads all communication with the park throughout setup and testing. 

5. Testing & Launch

Both Campspot and the campground will test the chatbot before going live on the campground's website. For testing done by the park, they should communicate directly with Insider Perks to facilitate this or with any questions.

  • No Setup Fees or Contracts: Campground can cancel anytime by removing the widget or contacting Insider Perks.

  • 24/7 Coverage with Human Fallbacks: Forward your phones any time. The agent can transfer to staff during office hours or voicemail after hours, based on your rules.

  • Complete Booking Flow: Real-time availability checks, site recommendations, guest info collection, and secure payment link via SMS.

  • Custom FAQ Handling: Can answer park-specific policies, amenities, directions, and local recommendations, tailored for your property.

  • Live Inventory & Pricing: Uses the same API connection as the chatbot for accurate rates and rules.

Pricing Overview

This integration offers a low-cost, high-impact way to automate reservations and reduce staff workload. Here’s a breakdown of the pricing structure for participating campgrounds:

  • Base Subscription: $99/month (via CampVantage)

  • AI Chat Usage: ~$0.25 per chat (most reservations cost under $1)

  • Phone AI Pricing: AI phone usage is billed similarly to chat usage (per interaction), with costs varying based on call length and volume. Contact Insider Perks for current rates.
  • No Setup Fees or Campspot Fees

Note: Campgrounds must be using Campspot's Online Booking API in order to use this integration. The Booking API comes with costs, however, if a campground is signed up for the Campspot Growth Package (Booking Fee), Campspot API fees are waived.

General Functionality

Q: Does this integration change my Campspot Consumer Booking page?

No. The integration does not modify or replace your existing Campspot booking page. It simply allows bookings to be made through the AI chatbot on your park's website.

Q: Are my sites or inventory listed on another platform or third-party site?

No. All bookings happen through your existing Campspot setup. The bot accesses your inventory via API and facilitates bookings.

Q: Are bookings made through the chatbot any different from regular bookings?

No. These are standard Campspot reservations. They appear and function just like any other reservation made online. 

Q: Do guests have to leave the website to pay?

No. The bot provides secure, PCI-compliant payment links within the chat for a seamless guest experience.

Q: Are there special steps to cancel or modify a reservation made through the chatbot?

No. Bookings made through the chatbot can be managed like any other reservation within the Campspot admin interface.

Q: Can I use the AI for phone reservations, chat, or both?

Parks can choose to enable chat only, phone only, or both.

Q: How Does The AI PHONE AGENT WORK?

You forward calls to a dedicated number provided by Insider Perks. The AI answers 24/7, can transfer to staff when needed, and completes reservations using real-time Campspot data.

Q: How do guests pay when booking over the phone?

The AI sends a secure payment link via SMS. Guests complete payment online; no card data is taken over the phone.

Q: Can the AI phone agent answer non-booking questions?

Yes. It can provide campground details, policies, directions, local recommendations, and more—fully customizable per park.

 

Setup & Management

Q: Does the park need to manage or train the chatbot?

No. Insider Perks handles all training, setup, and ongoing chatbot improvements. Parks do not need to manage this process.

Q: Can parks cancel the service at any time?

Yes. There are no contracts or long-term commitments. Parks can cancel anytime by removing the widget or contacting Insider Perks.

Q: Is this available to parks not on the campspot growth package/ Booking Fee model?

Yes, but standard API usage fees may apply if the park is not on the Growth Package/ Booking Fee model.

Q: Does the park need to use the Campsoot Online Booking API to use this integration?

Yes. Campgrounds must be using the Campspot Online Booking API in order to use this integration. Campgrounds not signed up for the Campspot Growth Package will incur standard API usage fees. 

Q: How do I set up the AI phone agent?

A: Insider Perks will provide a forwarding number, help you configure call routing rules, and train the AI on your park-specific information.
