Learn how to easily email a POS receipt to guests during or after a transaction, reducing print costs and improving record-keeping.
Summary:
This article walks you through how to email a POS receipt to a guest, either at the time of purchase or after the transaction. This feature allows parks using the native Campspot POS to send digital receipts, reducing print costs and making it easier to track guest purchases.
Emailing a POS Purchase Receipt
POS users can send itemized receipts directly to guests via email. The email will include receipt details in the body and a link to download a PDF version. This provides a seamless way to communicate purchases and reduces the need for paper receipts.
There are two ways to email a receipt:
- During the transaction – Send the receipt immediately when completing a transaction.
- After the transaction – Locate a past receipt in POS History and send it via email.
Follow the steps below to email a receipt using either method.
Email a POS Receipt During the Transaction
To send a POS receipt during checkout, follow these steps:
- Add items to the cart.
- Add a customer to the sale (Recommended) by searching the "Add Customer to Sale" field. This ensures the receipt is linked to a Guest Profile.
- Click Check Out.
- On the Payment pop-up, choose how to send the receipt:
- Send to customer on file – Available if a Guest Profile with an email address was attached to the purchase.
- Send to other email – Select if no guest was attached or if the customer prefers a different email.
- Select one of these options by checking the box.
- Click Submit Payment to finalize the purchase and send the email receipt.
Best Practice:
Always add a guest to the sale when possible. This allows for better tracking of purchases, making it easier for the park to analyze guest spending patterns and assist with future operations.
